Rodney G. King, whose beating in 1991 by the police was captured on video and led to riots in Los Angeles the next year after four officers were acquitted in the case, was found dead early Sunday in his home about 50 miles east of here, police officials said.
Mr. King’s publicist, Suzanne Wickham, said that his fiancée found him and was “obviously very devastated.”
Details of the death were unclear, but there did not appear to be signs of foul play, the police said. He was 47.
