A newly published paper from Rhode Island Hospital reports on the impact to patients if five personality disorders are removed from the upcoming revision to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th edition (DSM-5).
Based on their study, the researchers believe these changes could result in false-negative diagnoses for patients. The paper is published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry and is now available online in advance of print.http://beyondthecurtain.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=post
The DSM-5 Personality and Personality Disorders work group made several recommendations to change the approach toward diagnosing personality disorders. One of those recommendations is to delete five personality disorders as a way to reduce the level of comorbidity among the disorders. The ones originally slated to be removed include paranoid, schizoid, histrionic, narcissistic and dependent personality disorders.

These particular mental disorders were used on anyone who was hurt on the job starting (to my knowledge) back in the mid to latter 80′s to disqualify injured workers, their real physical injuries, starting with RSI’s repetitive stress injuries like carpal tunnel for just one instance. Injured workers childhood histories were also used to shut down a claim (with the personality disorders) as well all by doctors, lawyers judges & others all helping the insurance companies & “healthcare industry to save money To put a label on anyone who also filed a complaint on a medical error also goes on. So, if you file an insurance claim you are either a nut or slut or both. This is an abuse of human rights along with other rights violations all to label someone nuts so insurance companies, HMO’s like kaiser didn’t have to pay out on injuries done deliberately at the workplace and THEN the patient lost their medical care, their homes, family, health, & some their lives & SS & Medicare became the only thing they had left. which WAS the plan.
I have about 100 kaiser injured workers/patients who suffered the same abuse but their are millions of workers who suffered the same fate…. NOW the evidence will disappear on the how to dehumanize & destroy an injured worker and a patient, One has to ask one’s self as to why these “personality disorders” were really introduced & why?
Don’t forget the MMPI-A totally rigged battery of tests to do the same.
Even if you complained on behalf of a family member receiving bad care, they were forced to these type of evaluations on those who complained because their family member had died. Whata grand scheme to destroy so many!
Also I would suggest that all the QME’s, Qualified Medical Examiners, AME’s, Agreed Medical Examiners’s, IME’s, Independent Medical Examiner’s & other doctors who used these tests to label a person a nut or slut or both who in filing a worker comp claim or a patient and or a family member who filed complaints against an errant doctor or “health care” entity, these doctors should have to to take these tests. This would go for any legislators who approved legislation for worker comp! Then the world could & would see who the real nuts & sluts are.
Legislators who approved this type of health care denials with the NCOIL-National Commission on Insurance Legislation ( that is headed by a different senator every year) should also be required to take these tests too!
